The Movement Against
YOUTH VIOLENCE
Continues!
The Mission sponsored a
"Stop the Violence" movement
led by and targeting youth. This
initiative allowed youth to
show their opposition to violent
behaviors by carrying a "Stop the
Violence" Bookmark and outlines a
program through which youth can have
a voice. The Mission encouraged youth
to share what they think should be done
to keep them safe. Click here for more

The Mission was one of the non profit organizations selected to be highlighted by the Detroit4Detroit project! There were hundreds of submissions,
so there's a bit of an honor in being selected. And--Detroit4Detroit is throwing The Mission a party on May 17th at Bert's Warehouse to celebrate. The
event is called "Crank Up the Cause". And we really want all of The Mission's friends and supporters to come. Tickets are $10.
The best part is...each attendee actually gets to give the $10 cover charge to The Mission as a donation. The more people in attendance at the party,
the more money is raised for The Mission. Tickets can be purchased online at http://cutcdetroit.eventbrite.com/ or a direct donation can be made to
The Mission via PayPal.
Before you decide what you're going to do--come, not come, donate--please click here and check out The Mission's Preservation and Trash project.
It is the reason why The Mission been selected for this fundraiser. The project uses unemployed residents who live in the City to trash out those
vacant houses that are making our neighborhoods look like there's been a war other than the one on proverty…
But--it gets even better than that! WDET is giving away $25,000 worth of airtime to Detroit nonprofits participating in Detroit4Detroit. So not only can
Detroit4Detroit donators give The Mission $10, but those who attend the May 17th party can vote on that night for The Mission to receive free airtime
on WDET that can be use to recruit even more unemployed people to help get things back to normal in the city we love!
