The bad news is that each day 1 out of 4 women become the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
crimes.  As a result, the probability of your knowing a domestic violence survivors, assault victims or a current
victims is high.  It could happen to your co-worker, your neighbor, your relative...or it may be you.  The ripple
effect of violent lifestyles and crime has a far-reaching impact.  It affects not only the battered person, but the
children in that family or other relatives and friends.

The Mission: Prevention Education is dedicated to the empowerment of survivors of violence, as well as to the
development and promotion of efforts to eliminate all domestic and sexual violence in our communities. The good
news is that
THE MISSION has developed and operates programming that is relevant to overcoming the
devastating impact of violence.  Its programs are sensitive and effective, and have been designed as
age-appropriate modules having cultural relevance.

"Hold On to Hope"

"The Mission  serves people who are or have been abused and victimized.  Sustaining a non-profit effort like this is about
understanding the processes of growth and hope…its like planting seeds, and looking forward with confidence that one day
those seeds will
blossom into beautiful flowers that can be arranged into magnificient bouquets.  My reason for using flowers to
convey a message of best practices for serving victimized persons, rather than to use words, is very simple. This way, the
communication of the idea becomes more beautiful and subtle. The visual effect seems to make the experience of giving
hope and support in small but powerful increments a more effective way of helping than a mere stream of words."
